What is Pure East Coast?Ren Ostkust is a digital, interactive map for planning and communicating cleaning efforts along the Baltic coast. Ren Ostkust - the map promotes and facilitates cleaning efforts for all volunteers, contractors and municipalities. The project covers the coastal municipalities of Kalmar County as well as Valdemarsvik and Söderköping. Pure East Coast has developed from a beach cleaning project that started in 2012 on the west coast. The purpose is to work together for the common goal of reducing the amount of marine litter. There are many different sources of marine debris, most often originating from land. Your cleaning efforts are not limited to beaches or the archipelago. Rubbish has a major impact on the environment as well as on the economy, safety and health of society. How do I use the map?Download the Clean East Coast app. In the map, you place different markings, three categories, depending on the need for action.Write a few lines in the case description and feel free to attach a picture to make it easier for other garbage collectors to get an idea of the place.Categories"Cleaned" is used if you have cleaned an area and thrown the rubbish. The "Cleaned" symbol will appear with a green mark on the map when you submit your report. You use "Cleaning needs" to mark a place where there is a cleaning need. The category is used to draw attention to and inspire volunteers for a cleaning effort. If there are large objects that must be handled by the municipality, attach a picture and description in the case description. "Cleaning needs" is symbolized by a red marking on the map when you have submitted the report."Scheduled cleaning" is used when you plan to clean an area and want to invite more volunteers. "Scheduled cleaning" is symbolized, when you have submitted the report, with a blue marking on the map.In the work against marine litter, your reports and efforts are very helpful - together we create a cleaner east coast! Many thanks for your efforts!
